The following Member Responsibilities have been extracted from the 2025 Handbook:

Playing with the West Point Golf Club

Protocol

Members are required to play a minimum of 10 scheduled Thursday games and are encouraged to participate regularly in Club social and special events. All sign up for golf is now done through eSignup. We have been advised by the Pro Shops that golfers cancelling without giving at least 4 hour notice or those who have declared that they will be playing and do not turn up may result in WPGC being fined $25. If that happens, the club will expect to be reimbursed.

Etiquette

Members are expected to:

  • Keep a good pace of play and keep up with the group in front.
  • Take care of the golf course.
  • Play by the rules of golf, including local WPGC rules.
  • Conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner.
  • Act courteously and respectfully when dealing with other members, golf course personnel, and concession staff.

Medical Leave

Members may apply for Medical Leave if a prolonged illness/injury prevents them playing golf regularly. A member in this situation should apply to the Membership Director, who may grant Medical Leave for up to one year on behalf of the Board of Directors. The Membership Director and the Treasurer will determine the amount of annual fee, if any, that will be waived or refunded, depending on the length of leave. A member placed on Medical Leave returning to an active role will assume the same membership status that he had when taking leave.  Any member on ML whose fees have been waived/returned would need to pay meal costs for any social event they wish to attend or become an associate member.
